OK so based on the responses of the great members here and a little investigation about the cost of taking the PUP to the Vineyard we are changing courses here.  Any recommendations for campgrounds in the Berkshires/Mt. Greylock area?

I've noticed that DAR State Park and Clarksburg State Park seem to be rated well but have no hookups, which we could deal with.

Any help would be great.  We are totally new to the area.

TIA

Hello, I,ve never camped that far north in the Berkshires before, but I have stayed at Beartown SF in great barrington about a dozen times. It's in the southern end of the Berkshires by Butternut ski resort. It has a Big manmade lake with huge pike( my friend hooked a 40" pike about 7 years ago!). There are sites right on the lake- no hookups- with self composting toilets. there are other sites away from the lake with electricity but I've never camped there. I know you were asking for places farther north, but you may want to check this place out.
Hope this was helpful. Happy Camping!
