There is a regular IRC chat every Monday from 8:00pm EST to 10:00pm EST. (Thats 5:00pm PST to 7:00pm PST)

We will be on the Freenet IRC network using channel:
#pop-up-trailers.

The Freenet server is at irc.us.freenode.net.

To download an IRC chat program for Windows, go to http://www.mirc.com/

There are IRC clients for the Mac, but you'll have to google them.

If you run into problems, post here and I will try to answer your question(s).

There are people (including me) who do this nearly every week.  Why am I the only regular on PUT who does so?

It's not rocket science, folks.  c'mon, join us tonight at:
8PM Eastern time,
7PM Central time,
6PM Mountain time, or
5 PM Pacific time.

Don't worry if you're late; I'm seldom on time.

Do they have an IRC client for Linux ?

There are several.  I'm not a eunics guy, so I can't recommend one, but a google search for "linux IRC client" got over 8 million hits.

At least one of the regulars is a Linux user and I can post the client he uses if he joins us tonight.  He is there most weeks.

Marcy,

From a live conversation:

Bill!  I need info.
9.8 meters per second per second.
A regular at PUT wants to know what Linux IRC client to use.
About 65 F.
There are so many choices!
I use XChat.  I have used KIRC in the past.
I told her when I googled it I got 8 million hits.
Do you have URL's?
KIRC is probably part of his distribution.  It is part of almost anything that includes K Desktop Environment.
Hers, sorry.
Lemme see about XChat ...
http://www.xchat.org
Find out what distribution she has and whether she uses yum or apt to do updates.

can't find the net work!!!!

OK, this is tonight...I will try to monitor this thread if anyone wants to try this and has problems.

Chat is 8-10 Eastern Time, 7-9 Central time, 6-8 Mountain time, and 5-7 Pacific time.

For you Left Coasters, once in a while someone hangs around past 7 PM PT, but not often.  You could still chat among yourselves.

Anyone interested?  This is tonight...

Bump.  It's Monday.

I don't know if I will be there; we will be on the road most of this week and I may have things I need to do.

sounds like fun. but 5pm-7pm is when most of us westerners are getting home from work, making sure homework is done and making dinner.  Monday nites I go to work about 7:30 pm and get home around 1:30

Hopefully sometime I'll get the chance
