Eastern Sierras Summer Trip

Well, since Casitas didn't materialize for mid-August, who's up for going to some place like Mammoth?  I've been there, and they've got 40 full hook-up sites, which are apparently under some big pine trees (according to Moose).  The bulk of the sites are in a parking lot area.  Nice amenities at the CG, LOTS to do within an easy drive, and the weather sounds like it'll be okay (heat-wise, again according to Moose).

I could call tomorrow to see what the availability would be for the full hook-ups (they require a 3-night min. during summer).  In the meantime, here's a link to their site, which doesn't have much info. on it.

Sounds good to us we have been wanting to check Mammoth out and like the looks of the park.....Love the indoor pool, etc......So if the dates are ok for us we would love to go.......Carol

I love Mammoth and would dig mountain biking the Cornice, :yikes: but I'm not sure I want to spend the majority of two days on the road.  On the drive home from Flying Flags, Dave and I were talking about something closer to home....maybe Casitas or Pismo?

We will be up in the Eastern Sierras for the 4th of July at Bridgeport. :U

Maybe if we store the trailer at the RVpark for a month?........ (ooooh, can't do that, we will be at the San Clemente rally in July)!

Probably too much driving for us, (this...from the family that drove from Buelton to Long Beach last Saturday to attend a Cub Scout's award dinner, then came back the next morning).

August is still wide open though!

Okay -- I said that I'd call but I haven't yet.    BUT I will when I get home today.  I'm going to see what's available for the end of July/first of August.  I'll post tonight.

Okay, I just called (it was recess), and the only time we can get even ONE site with full hook-ups will be the weekend of August 2-6 (Th-Mo).  There are plenty of partial HUs then.  I'd like to take the full hook-up site, and if there's even one person who wants to join me, please let me know today if possible.  The sites aren't next to each other, but the park isn't that large.  I'd really like to get up there this summer -- and I might even be persuaded to take a partial site, since the bathrooms are nice.

So, who wants to go?  Gotta let me know NOW.  Sites are going quickly!

As stated before we would love to go but now sure about the end of July first of Aug......need to get with Jim and look at our camping dates get back with you ASAP....carol
