I was sitting at work the other day with a few minutes on my hands, so I started to make my spring maintenance/clean up list. I left the list at work, but here is part of it. I am sure I have forgotten some things. If you have any other things you do please post them.

YEARLY
repack wheel bearings
adjust brakes
turn your fire extinguisher upside down and whack it with a rubber mallet a few times (to loosen the chemical that gets compacted over time)
tighten anode rod in the water heater
sanitize the water system
lube bed slides
lube tongue jack
reinstall shower hoses
reinstall shower curtain
clean the floor and put 2 coats of "Future" on it
repack all of the stuff you took out of the camper in the fall (of course you put the stuff into plastic totes so it is all together
clean awning
wash camper
sand and repaint any rust spots on the frame
check that the items in the first aid kit have not expired and replace them if they did
reinstall the battery after keeping it inside and charged over the winter
put new batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, etc.

EVERY TRIP
torque lug nuts
check tire pressure
check lights
clean inside with Protect All

EVERY MONTH/OR AS NEEDED
lube lift system
lube stabilizing jacks
lube power cord (so it will go in the mouse hole easily)
clean windows with Plexus
clean all vinyl with Protect All or the 303 convertible roof cleaner then 303's Protectant
wash Sunbrella tenting with Woolite then re-waterproof with 303's High Tech Fabric Guard

Thanks for the list!

Question..do you have to sanitize the water system if you only use city hookups?

Yes you should, because bacteria can grow in the water lines and water heater if you have one.  Not just in the water tank.:)

Thanks for this list.  I'll be running through it for the first time ever.  Sanitize water system how?  Bleach in the tank?  What ratio?

Thanks, Tracy. Your note is timely. Stay tuned for the April issue of Pop UP Times. Dave sent me an article he wrote last week on this very topic.

Put one fourth cup of bleach into a gallon of water.  Pour that into your holding tank.  Fill the holding tank with fresh water.  Then pump water through all of you water lines, sink and showers.  If you have a water heater and it is bypassed you will need to have it back in the hot water loop so it is sanitized too.  Let the bleach water sit at least one hour.  Then drain all of the bleach water that you can.  Flush with fresh water.  If you leave the bleach water in over night you may get a bleach taste to your water lines.  If that happens you can do a rinse with 1 cup vinegar in the fresh water rinse and then do another rinse with fresh water.:)
