Although someone may have already figured out a better idea, I went ahead with mine.  Instead of my drain plug for my fresh water tank I installed a 90 degree and then extended the pvc to the edge of the camper.  In line I installed a shutoff valve.  Now I don't have to climb under at the campground ( or home ) to release my water that is in the tank before towing again.

Yes, so proud of myself.  I hate plumbing.  Even spray painted it black so it wouldn't stand out and angled it rearward some so it doesn't catch.

Good job.. :# .....I've been thinking of doing that and some others have done it. I just put a shut-off valve at the tank. Getting on my knees to open it up isn't any fun though.

Do you have any pictures to share?? :sombraro:

I've got the pieced to do the same mod to the Niagara.  All assembled and sitting on the bench in the shed.

Been working on a shelf for over the galley.  Should finish that tomorrow, then the water tank drain.

Thanks.  I will hopefully take some pictures and post them tomorrow evening.  I am not much of a plumber so I really expected someone else to have something better.  I gave it a test run and it seems to work well but I havent taken it on the road yet.  Time will tell.

Yeah, probably so.  Neither do we like crawling around under the camper getting doused.  :D

SheBantam

Shelley and Camper John showed me that on their camper. Really like the idea their's comes out by the tongue.  The Cabin A is not bad and I really do not get doused, but the Bantam, is an inside thingee and I have to open the back dinette seat and lay across the dinette to get the thingee to turn and the tank to empty.
Tell me what I need and how hard it is and I can do that too (on the Bantam), I think. I hope.

Our latest and greatest to date mod is a generator.  I was not going to spend the money, but I have 2 camping trips with no electricity in the summer.  If i was to get one, it had to be big enough to keep the AC running in the Bantam...Need it during the heat of the day!!!.

Talked it over with Raymond and we got one big enough so that in the winter we could also run the furnace in the house and a few other things.  Raymond is going to build a dog house sort of thing for the generator for home.  And we will keep it locked in the truck (this one has the tailgate that locks as does the cap, and keep it covered withthe tarp I had in the back anyway.  Now we just have to figure out to work it...that may be the harder part...also now need truck ramps. but the more meshy king *neither one of us can get this monster in and out of the truck, even together. Do not worry, it is NOT for night time, only for the daytime summer hot days to run the SC, so I will not (should not be anyway) disturbing anyone's sleep at night.

Will have to get step for the doors of the truck, re-wrenched  my back getting into the truck to help middle son move into his house, the way I have to get in and then twist to sit correctly to drive is too much for my poor poor back...

Well, I finally got some pictures of the water drain mod on my webshots.   It was a little difficult because I had already painted it all black.  Basically all I needed was one 90 degree elbow threaded on one side, a couple feet of pvc pipe, a shutoff valve, and glue.  I didn't bother converting to cpvc as only about 8 inches of potable water could come in contact with pvq so it shouldn't be a problem.

I also put an updated photo of my electric box on the front showing the "covering" of the electrical contacts.  The cutoff switches are now safetly out of sight.  If I was to do it again I would use the suggestion waverly gave on the outside switch designed for marine applications.

Next mod will be adding reverse lights on the camper like I did on the last one.;) /QUOTE]

Sorry, I had put them under the wrong folder.  They should be under trailer mods now.  If not they were under camping before.
