i recently purchased a 03 jayco qwest 10b and will be towing it with a 94 isuzu rodeo v6 4wd.  i am looking to install a brake controller and wondering if anyone had any experience with an isuzu.  i know the trailer is light weight, but i will be driving long distances and do not want to save my brakes as much as possible.  i just installed a 7 pin plug, replacing the existing 4 pin plug, but still need to wire the plug to charge trailer battery and for the brake controller.  any help would be helpful

I have 94 Rodeo S (2.6L four, 2WD).

As I recall, there is a plug installed at the rear bumper for a trailer connector, right behind the license plate.  I didn't use it because I couldn't find a factory connector locally.  I didn't have brakes on the previous campers, so didn't need to worry about a controller.

The inertial brake controllers from Tekonsha take four connections:  battery (12V+), ground, cold side of the stoplight switch, and a wire to the brakes on the trailer.  You will likely have to run the wire for the trailer brakes from the controller to the trailer plug (along with the trailer battery charging wire).  Hardest part will probably be running the wires, but there are harnesses running the entire length of the Rodeo.

Hope that helps.
