Today we got back from our first trip of the year. We went to campland for 3 days, it was our first time there, I've been reading alot about it here from the SSCampers, and Dee4j  was nice enough to give me alot of info about the place and which sites would be perfect for the family and I. We stayed in site B-3 it was near the pool and restrooms and showers , since we dont have a potty in our PU.  The place is very well kept and the pool was heated so it was always being used. When we got there Wed. it was around 4:00pm, so we set up camp then walked around to explore the campgrounds and all it had to offer, we found a nice park the kids enjoyed playing at, then we walked down to the ocean and the girls had a blast looking for sea shells, we also found 2 jellyfish at the edge of shore, we left those alone.... by this time it was almost 7:00 pm and the kids were hungry, so we went to the little BBQ place "the Hungry Wolf", this was the only bad thing about the place, my wife and kids had the half chicken with 2 sides for $6.95 and I had the Brisket with 2 sides for $9.95, what a rip off, there was about 3 ounces of meat that was tuff as leather and tasted old, I will never eat there again!!!!! Theres a store and the prices are very reasonable, we bought a large bag of wood for $6.49, its a good deal..  later we toasted marsmallows and made smores, Amanda my 5 year old had 3 of them and a bunch of marshmallows, she just loves camping out. Megan my 4 year old was a little under the weather, i think it was a little tummy ache, she was fine the next day.
Thursday we went to Sea World, the weather was perfect for it, we saw all the shows and everything else they have to offer. We also spent a fortune on souvineers, thats OK, we all had a great time. The olny incident was when we went to the dolphin petting area and one of the dolphins swam right in front of us, then he decieded to soak the crowd and Amanda and I were right in front and we got soaked, kinda caught us off guard, but anyway Amanda got scared and started to cry, we were soaked the worst. I took her to a shop and bought her a towel and a new dry shirt, it cost me $38.00, OUCH!! When we were leaving the  Park at 5:30 walking to our car it started to rain. It didn't take us long to get back to our camp, it rained for an hour or so. We made spaghetti for the kids and taco's for the wife and I. No campfire that night.
Friday we went to Old Town for a few hours , then we took the kids to  a park on  Mission Bay Drive, it was all in the sand and very large. we were out there for almost 4 hours, the kids loved it. After that we returned to camp to clean up. The kids wanted to go to IHop for dinner, so we did. after we got back to camp we went down to the beach again til it got somewhat dark then went back to start a campfire and toast Marshmallow and make smores again, it what Amanda  wanted. It was a smooth trip there and back. We're looking forward to going back. I will post some pics in the next couple of days......Ed

Out here in Vegas we dont see alot of PU's when we camp. I forgot to add that when we stayed at Campland, there were 9 PU"s in our area. I always look for fellow PU"ers, i dont know why, i just love these type of campers.......

sounds like you had a great time. I'm glad B-3 worked out for you. that one is one of my fav's. we do our rally in another section where all the h?u's are left side. most of campland sites they put the post in the middle so they alternate right and left H/U

Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun for everyone.  I know how you feel about getting not so good food at a high price.  We do try out new places sometimes but mostly stick with the ones we know.  Hope this is just the beginning of a wonderful season for your family.
