Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the size, type, or make of a tent trailer that would be suitable to tow behind a 06 Honda CRV (manufacturer states 1500lbs tow capacity)
Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Most of the advice I give is free, probably what it is worth...

Hi Marc
You'll see several differing opinions as to what manufacturer makes the best.  I don't think there is that much of a difference.  We'll see what others here reply on that subject.

You will have to pay careful attention to the weight limit in choosing.  This means you'll probably have an 8 ft box instead of something larger/heavier in the 10 ft to 12 ft box range.  I think there is probably a wealth of info on towing if you look here.

I'd recommend going to several different dealers to see the different brands.
Make a list ahead of time as to features/functions you want in a PU.
This could include:  1. AC ? 2. Furnace? 3. refrigerator or ice box ok? 4. How many does it need to sleep?  5. Shower/potti needed?  etc.

Also, and this sounds stupid, spend some time inside the PU's you end up on a short list to buy.  See what it feels like with everyone inside, etc.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help, I was assuming I would have to stay towards the smaller box given the 1500lbs limit on the CRV. There would be myself and wife and 3 young children, AC not a concern, nor a heater, a shower and poti would definatly be an asset. Are thse options when one is looking at a smaller PUP, guess I just assumed they wereonly available on larger units.
I have made a few contacts at local dealers, One is Palimo (Pony) and the other is a fleetwood dealer i believe. wish me luck and thanks again.
We look forward to joinging the world of camping "off" the ground.
