Breaker box?

First post so I ask for forgiveness in advance if I sound ignorant.

We just bought a '93 coleman/fleetwood sequoia.

The old couple we bought it from had an A/C unit (carrier) installed a few months ago.  The old gentleman told me the A/C cord has to be run outside with an extension cord to the main campsite hookup...

It has a 20A end plug and none of the outlets that I have found are 20A.

So I went to the local 'place' and they said (and I thought this too) when the A/C was installed they should have done the breaker/outlet for it as well but it seems I'm not that lucky.  I got what I think is everything I need (20A outlet and breaker assortment) to do the work and I know how.

BUT I haven't looked closely enough to find out where the breaker box is on this thing...so for all I now it may already have a 20A circuit just no outlet for it...??

Any and all help is appreciated...I feel like I've already learned a LOT!!

Your Sequoia should have a power converter (a device that changes 120V A/C into 12V D/C).  Under normal circumstances, the converter acts as a breaker box.

On my camper, (Coleman/Fleetwood Bayside), the converter has a black access panel about 6" tall by about 12" wide, but my trailer is several years newer than yours so your converter may be very different.  On mine, you need to un-mount the converter to get to the wiring to add a circuit.

Our pop-up already has a 20 amp circuit wired for an air conditioner.  It is located near the converter (but again, yours may be different).

If you are able to do basic home wiring, you should be able to wire a new outlet in your pop-up.

The neat thing about this board is that someone with a Sequoia will probably chime in and give more specific information.

Thanks Austin.

Upon further searching I found a 20A outlet within reach of the A/C units power cord...so we should be good to go.
