DW and I took a ride to the Okefenokee Swamp a couple of days ago.

Upon rentering Florida, we saw a sign that said All trucks must stop.  The list included vans and pickups.

Never ran into this before.

Can anyone tell me what this is about and if I should have stopped?
I didn't see anyone else stopping and some pickups just drove by it.

Thanks

Gene, that was probably a agricultural inspection station.  Law enforcement officers at the inspection stations routinely inspect trucks traveling into and out of Florida looking for anything that could threaten agriculture.

Here is the list of vehicls that are required to stop.  You can note that RV of all types are exempt.

QuoteSTATUTORY ACCESS TO INSPECTIONS

to inspect all:
a. Places of Business;
b. Factories;
c. Farm Buildings;
d. Carriages;
e. Railroad Cars;
f. Trucks;
g. Motor vehicles, EXCEPT:
1. private passenger automobiles with no trailer in tow,
2. travel trailers,
3. camping trailers,
4. van conversions,
5. motor homes,

6. pickup trucks not carrying agricultural, horticultural, or livestock products, and which
have visible access to the entire cargo area, or
7. city, county, state or federal vehicles;
h. Truck and motor vehicle trailers; and
i. Vessels
which are used or could be used in the production, manufacture, storage, sale, or transportation
within the state of any food product; any agricultural, horticultural, or livestock product; or any

Wasn't sure if I was breaking a law or not.
