So ...you might have several posts/questions from me and I hope you don't get tired of seeing my name.

As I've stated, I bought a 94 Dutchman 1202 PU.
None of the side marker lamps work except when I brake.
When I turn on my left blinker...only the left rear blinker blinks.
When I turn on the right blinker...ALL side lamps and rear lamps blink.

Sounds like a grounding problem or a bad connection.  We had a similar problem last year when I brought the PU out for the first trip.  I sprayed some WD-40 on both sides of the contacts of the 4-pin connector we have, and everything worked fine.  If that doesn't work, you may have to trace your lines and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be.

Sounds like your marker lights are connected to your right blinker/brake light circuit, and NOT connected to the running lights.

The problem could be on either the tow vehicle or trailer.  Do you have easy access to another trailer to check the plug on the tow vehicle?

Austin

I do. It's never been an issue with any of my trailers that I pull regularly.

Then have you checked to make sure there really are four wires on the trailer side of the plug, and that each is connected to a different pin on the plug?

Austin

Yep.
This thing hs me confused. I've traced the wires from the plug all the way back to the lights. No splices anywhere along the way.
I'm thinking about just pulling the wiring and redoing it all.

Jeremy

Sometimes pulling the wiring and starting from scratch with new is the less painful way of doing things.  Plus it gives you the option of upping to a 7 wire setup if your existing wiring is only 4 wire.

Do you have a 12v test light or multimeter that you can use to check what wire is going to what?  My multimeter has saved me hours of guessing and a ton of blown fuses!

Are we talking 4 wire or 7? Is it a 4 wire on trailer with a 7wire plug? With wireing you need to make a set of jumpers. (2 feet of wire with alligator clips on each end) Then you can move wires around to different connections. Takes time and patience (something I'm not too good at).
If only my electrical teacher could see what I do know! (failed in High school)
Let me know what you have maybe I can help.

First step, hook the wiring up without letting the coupler or chains touch the TV. I bet nothing works, you have a bad ground. If that doesn't change anything, the next place to look is the right taillite, crossfeed in bulb or fixture. If the markers flash with that lite disconected then look at the wiring.
An idea, you say the lites on other trailers work on your TV, do the other trailers have LED lites?  Just trying to trace a problem on a older trailer, discovered the ground conection on the truck was bad, worked with LEDs but not reg lamps.

I had never thought of that, but it makes perfect sense.  LED's use so little current that they can hide a bad ground...
