Ok here goes our first pop -up trip and first campground review.

Overall a very nice campground.  I would say 60% or maybe more of full timers.  Seems the bottom half of the place is reserved for weekenders.  Prices are not bad.  The sites are level with gravel throughout.  We got water and electric hookups, but full hookups are available, as are tent sites.  Lots of trees (pine, oak, and looked like Aspen)  Kids loved the newly paved roads for bike and scooter riding.  There is a small store in the office for the last minute things forgotten, and fire wood.  Staff is very helpful, even calling around for a Mine tour in Julian.  A fire pit in every site, that looked to be cleaned out before we arrived.  There is also a "Fish Pond" on site that has Blue gill and such, although it was pretty low before it rained on us sunday/monday.

The camp is located about 4 miles from Julian, so there is lots to do there.  It is also located close to Cuyamaca Lake, although we did not go there.  There must also be off ATV trails close by as we could hear some of  this during the weekend.  The Wildfires of Julian, did not burn the property but did burn right up to them, so you will see the remains of that, but the vegitation is already growing back.

The only thing that bothered us the whole weekend was the lack of Trash cans.  There are a few dumpsters in the campground, but none of the sites have trash cans.  SO bring some bags, and maybe a collapsible trash can.  Also the were chemical toilets only near the sites.  The only "real" bathroom was near the office, but those did  include showers that my wife said were very nice.

Overall a nice site, and one we would goto again.

Pinezanita is where we took our Pop-up for the first time. It is a nice campground. It is close to the major road though so you do hear the traffic noise.
