We have a 1997 Starcraft Constellation with a shower/pottie. The flush knob on the pottie does not "flush water" when you turn the knob. I have been told that there is a solenoid that operates this function. I can't seem to find it's location. The water to the shower and sink work fine. Any suggestions?

I have a 97 Starcraft Starmaster.  I would assume the  toilets are similar to some degree so I can look around mine to see what I can find and let you know.  However, you mentioned that your other water items like sink and shower work fine.  My cassette toilet is not on the same system as my shower and faucets and is filled seperately.  Also it pushes vice turns to activate the water so I am not sure if I will be much help.

I'm not sure, but being it's a cassette potti, I wouldn't even think it would flush with the fresh water, or City Water hookup, but I'm not real sure, just going by what I have read about others having them.

Your toilet does not work on the same water line that your shower and sink work off of. There is a separate holding tank for the toilet (flush) water - if it is a Thetford. The water tank for the toilet can be found in the same compartment as your black water tank. The  black water tank will be on the bottom and the reservoir for the holding water will be on top. After you fill the flush water holding tank, your toilet will hopefully flush as normal. The attached picture should help. The fill spout can be clearly seen in this photo - complements of http://www.thetford.com/portable_cassette.cfm

Hope this helps.

I can kind of relate to this topic. I have a new camper with a cassette toilet and I took it out camping with th family. We ran out of water and it took me 30-45 minutes to figure out how to fill it. I had the instructions out and everything. They don't show how to fill it they just label the parts. I found the part the call the fill tube but it had water in it... This is where my confusion started. After 30 minutes I got frustrated and decided to try to "force" water water into this pipe by holding my fill jug really high and letting the falling force push the water in. Guess what it worked. As is turns out the water has to travel up and over the fill tube to fall into the resivior. I was so embarassed when I figured it out. I had to show my wife just to make sure I wasn't off my rockers. She said it didn't look like it should work either but the water level went up and the toilet started flushing again.

We had a good laugh over it.
