Would like the shade to be the "porch" area of the pup.

I got my shade maker supreme 9' awning from http://www.interwestsports.com/bag%20awnings.html

 Great price and free shipping.

Best inexpensive shade makers I've found are...trees.  Nothing like sitting under a tree next to your camper on a nice summer day.

Outside of that, we use our awning that came with the camper.  You don't have an awning with your camper?

I agree...the best shade comes from trees and my pup doesn't have an awning otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

Interesting.  There might be a story here.  Seems that awnings are just about standard equipment anymore on most anything that rolls down the street.  Why doesn't yours have an awning?

My old PUP didn't have an awning either - it was too small (short)

the new-to-us one does, but I haven't even unfolded it yet.  It has three poles and the canvas looks in really good condition.  Seems to have some kind of heavy zipper on it - so if it had screens at one time, they wern't with the trailer when I bought it.  I haven't had time to try putting it up yet.

I have one of the EZ-up type screen houses - actually a cheap Target version - bought it for $99 - 12 X12.  You can use just the roof, or attach the screen with velcro.

the first weekend we had it, put it up in the backyard and the wind rolled it and bent the frame. but the roof didn't tear - (the screen wasn't on it at the time)

so I fixed up the frame with some aluminum from the hardware store (now the frame won't fold) and ordered a replacement frame.

the 'fixed' frame stays up, year round, on our back patio.  we put the top on in summer, and have it up almost all summer.  it's lasted for two + yrs now, though it's a bit sun-faded.  The 'new' frame we keep folded up and take it camping with us.  we've used it for picnics, scout events, camping, garage sales, etc.  I'll probably have to order a new 'roof' canvas this summer, but the screen is in great shape, and I've found sidewalls for it, too.  you can get replacement parts easily and inexpensively, so It should last us awhile.

a screen house like that could be put up either right next to your camper, or set up elsewhere on your site.  not every site is ideally suited to having your outside living area right next to the camper, and it's a larger area than most camper awnings.  It would not be hard to adapt the screens to attach to the side of the camper (using velcro) if you wish. And it's probably alot cheaper than most attached awnings.

Because it's a '94 Dutchmen that was bought used. If I had my preference it would've been a '07 Niagra bought new but the DW thought we should save money.

We also purchased an awning in a bag for our older popup from Interwestsports, and we are totally satisfied with the price, free shipping, and how easy it goes up. The quality is great.
