Oh you must have trees.  No wind to bring the temps down enough to freeze the anitfreeze.  In South Dakota they still plug them in.  You have to, or they'll freeze.  There always was problems with the diesel equipment as well.  Even with additives thre could be problems in some of the tougher winters.

You'll be thawed out in no time.  Meanwhile I'm planning a large picnic for a couple weeks from now.

yeah... well my wife and oldest son just got back from the hospital.... one with brochitis, and the other with sinusitis...  I told my wife that maybe this is God's way of telling us that we should be looking to move to the Southern States....haha....

You might be right.  I recognize both of those sicknesses as northern usual sickness.  I had sinusitus for years until I moved down here, but I will say beware the allergies down here.  We are going through the Pine Pollen cycle now.  Everything is bright yellowish green.  Eyes are watery and people are sneezing.  Its always a trade off.  I hope your family gets to feeling better.

thanks    I hope so too, it's been  a long long winter...  hard on lots of people...  flus, pneumonias, lots of things ending in "itis"  then all the extra snow on top... a real pain..

Maybe the Lord has a church for me down South...  Then it's year round camping

Quote from: waynerAre you kidding me... that is perfection..   it's beautiful, warm, fresh veggies ;growing in the garden, camping year round... and YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO MOW YET!   This is unreal, almost too good to be true... you better start pinching yourself...   :banghead:

I hope that spring is finding it's way to those of you in colder parts of North America (gotta include our Canadian friends). I regret to tell you that I will have to mow my lawn this weekend, I have had fresh radishes with dinner twice so far, the tomato plants continue to thrive as do the zucchini and onion plants. If it makes you feel any better I haven't been able to get any cucumber seeds to start growing yet. I have no idea why but they are being stubborn.

Camping season for everyone is coming soon. We are planning another trip this month possibly up north into the high country. We are really looking forward to our three nights of camping at the Grand Canyon starting May 31st.

Happy camping!

The Lord has may churches for you and anyone else here in the South.  We are home to the famous convenience store/coin laundromat/used car dealership/churches.  The same guy preaches, sells the cars, gets you change for the washers, and illegally pays out on the poker machines.  I'm told he also knows some Good Ole' Boys who make some good branch water as well.  This form of psuedo-theo-commerce was an abrupt change for me when I moved here.  I was kind of old fashioned,  I didn't see pastors as used car dealers or salesmen of any sort.  I've since come to the A-HA realization that pastors are very much salespeople, and that I'm okay with that.  I don't even mind them knowing that the Johnson boys make good corn squeezin's.  I do however, mind when their washing machines take your money and don't get the clothes as clean as I would like.

not much for used car selling or running laundromats... and I really don't care much for poker...  guess I should stay put and deal with where were at...

I'm a fan of Garrison Keiler and the Lake Wobegon series. I love the way he describes weather in Minnesota and it basically applies to the entire upper US and Canada.

His quote that cracks me up is....

"It's 9 months of winter and 3 months of not-so-good sledding conditions."  :yikes:

I've been laughing at that for many years now. :eyecrazy:
