Hello,

We just got back from our first PU camping trip.  Everything went great, but the only problem was the water.  After we checked in at the office we went and filled the camper with water, drove to our campsite and set up.  I went inside to use the water and i pumped and pumped forever and could get nothing out.  I could feel and hear the suction.  But i just could not get the water to come out.  So today before we left i had to craw under the camper to drain all the water i put in, i didnt want to drive home with it full of water.  Can anybody help me out?  We have a 2000 Coleman Cheyenne.

Thanks
Jamie

If your sink faucet is like mine, there is a little handle under the sink, connected to the water hose, that shuts off flow to the sink.  This is to prevent water from accidently flowing through the faucet when your camper is closed up!  You need to reach under there, pull the black handle out until it pops, and your faucet will work just fine.

I doubt you did any real damage to the thing by pumping and pumping, and it is easy to forget that valve is there.  I often pump a couple fo tiems before I remember, then I open it up and everything is fine.

Again, if your popup is like mine you have 2 separate water hoses, one for the tank and one for a "city" connection.  Only the tank hose has this valve.

Hope that is the problem, becuase it is an easy one!

Thank you.  I will open up the camper and check that today.  Thanks Again

I'm assuming that you have a hand pump faucet, rather than an electric pump.  That being the case, in the three pups I've owned with hand pump faucets, they all seemed a bit tought to get the pump primed.  I've found that by covering the faucet with the tip of my finger while I start, I'm able to get suction started much easier.  After a few pumps, usually the water starts to flow.

Worth a try, anyway.
