Cover advice for Pop-up with AC

I've got a 2006 Jayco 1007 with an AC unit on top.  I don't have any garage-type storage options and after one winter in the elements I can already tell that over the long run I definitely need to invest in a good cover to protect as best I can.  I'm presently living in New York state, though I'm in the military and move every few years.

So, any advice or any recommended on-line places I could look at?  It's been easy enough to find places that sell covers, but most that I've seen don't have any consideration for the AC on top so it doesn't seem like the cover would work.

Of course it seems like the material should be breathable to allow vapor to escape also.  Anything else important along these lines?

Thanks!

Proceed with caution.  Some manufacturers will void your warranty if they find you used a cover.  Reasons sometimes sited are excess heat buildup and condensation.

I'm new to this whole idea also.  From what I've read, covers are not recommended as they tend to cause moisture buildup inside the pop up, which will lead to mold and mildew problems.  What is suggested is a carport or other type protection.  Maybe you could consider one of the portable ones, in case you have to move.  Here is one site that offers them //www.carportsusa.com Also, Thank you for serving our country!

Thanks for the input.  Yeah, I guess that's sort of why I asked also.  I thought I remembered reading something negative a long time ago about covers but couldn't remember what it was.  I think that was it.

So aside from warranty issues, I'm interested in what the general consensus is on what is best for the popup.  Is it the general feeling among experienced folks that if the only option is cover or no cover in the elements - that no cover is the better option?

Some of these cover manufacturers claim to have all these high tech materials that allow it to breath and not collect moisture in there - but I also am aware that these types of claims don't always ring true.  Is heat buildup a real concern?

The portable carport thing isn't a bad idea.  I'm going to look into it, but it's likely that won't work out in my storage area either (I store on gov't property with quite a few rules attached).

My Jayco Owners Manual says that a breathable cover is okay to use. I agree that some manufactures claims are a little far fetched so use caution when buying. I plan on getting an Adco cover this fall. The dealer recommended that brand and they are a good brand. Used them in the past on my truck camper.
Good Luck and have fun with that PUP.

We covered our Coleman Cape Cod (with A/C) for 6 years with a "breathable" cover we purchased from JCWhitney. Never had a problem and the cover only had one tear in it after 6 years and that was more my fault than anything else.
