First post!! Broken lift cable, now what?

Hello all. I found this forum while searching for a fix. Here goes: 1986 starcraft starlite 17 with broken left rear lift cable. Bought camper last spring, used several times without a problem. I tried to open it yesterday to do a little work and cable broke. Can someone please help? Thanks.

StarcraftRV can probably provide you with cable.  Otherwise take a sample section to your local hardware or industrial supply and buy enough to do the job.  There are crushable fittings that allow you to loop cable ends back onto themselves to make loops/eyelets.
