I have placed the PUP on a site in a campground in West Virginia until August 13 - should I drop and close it up after each weekend or leave it up?  I am not so worried about theft or anything like that, more about weather.  I got home this eve from a 6 day stretch camping, and looked at radar and it was square in line for a severe storm. So of course, I worry and think, darn(etc), I should have put it down but was going back on Friday eve.  Just how do these stand up in strong storms?  I then think, well if I was there, I would be sitting in it and it would be up.  Thoughts??

Since you worry, drop it. I would.

I would close it up if it will be empty longer than overnight.

I would absolutely pop down if I were going to leave the trailer for more than a couple nights, if it is more than an hour drive to the campgrounds.

Weather is an issue and you can only get a fairly good forecast (about 80% accurate) for 3-days. The 4th day is only about 30% accurate and it deteriorates from there.

I think that many of us have been forced to close up the trailer and go home early, due to bad weather.

Last year, we had a shepard's hook (the upper brace that holds your bunk brace out) collapse in a gust of wind. Had we not been in the PU, we would have suffered some pretty severe damage.

Not that I'm necessarily recommending it, but I have left my up on a farm for a week in November--I was camping out of it on the weekends.  I was a little worried when some rain came through, but when I got back up there the next weekend, everything was ok.  However, the next time I left, I put it down.
