I am replacing the fresh water filler hose and was wondering what to used to seal it where it attaches to the fresh water tank.  Tried not using and sealer but couldn't get a good seal.  Will clear silicone work?  Anything that is 'rated' for drinking water use?

With a hose, I never use a sealer; instead, I've always used a hose clamp.  However, if the attachment point for the hose is plastic, a hose clamp might damage it; wait for someone else's advice in that case.

A hose clamp should do just fine as long as the hose is the correct size. I sure wouldn't put any sealer on it.

If the hose is too big and sloppy on the fitting, you may try getting the proper size hose for the fitting and a barbed connector to connect the 2 hoses.

If the hose that you are using is way too big, you may be able to put a short piece of the proper size hose on the fitting and your current hose over the top of that hose and clamp the whole thing.

If you get that clear plastic hose, sometimes you can get a hose that isn't quite big enough to fit on the fitting. Boil a pan of water to a full boil then quickly take the pan to the camper and put the hose in the water until it is really soft. That will swell the hose big enough to put it on the fitting and it will cool to a very tight fit. Maybe you could put your hose over that hose.

Just some ideas....I hope one might help. :sombraro:

The original hose had sealer on it.  I used a new hose clamp and could not get it tight enought.  I am using the same kind ribbed of hose as was on it originally, same diameter and everything.
