It has been rather quiet around here.  Is everyone out camping?  I don't have any immediate plans but, I am getting the itch again.  Guess I'll do another local trip soon.  I did finish my "storm window".  I raised my porta potty stand another inch and I bought a small piece of pvc to cover the top of the screw on my bal.  I just ordered the Yakima crossover bars so I can put my cargo carrier on top of the pup.  I also bought some pvc to make the bal holder to mount to the back bumper.  I keep telling the hubby it is cheaper for me to be camping rather than sitting at home reading about other peoples mods.

Last I heard, tlhdoc and dee106 were at Assateague Island National Seashore, maybe others but I don't know for sure.  Don't know how long they'll be there.  Would have thought they'd be back by now.   I agree, it's been a bit quiet.  We'll be going out again on a 3 nighter on Monday, then again for 12 nights on 8/12.

I was there Monday and Tuesday nights...NOT my favorite campground in July, but the skeeters were almost non existant this year.

Sara S, Hershey Girl, Sara and Beckys sister from Kansas and their cousin from PA and her two small ones were there also.

I am back to work, I think the others will be there the rest of the week.

We missed everyone. Found an awsone (but expensive) designer donut place...the do nuts were to camp for, then drive about 8 miles to get 'em.

Some of the others got very fresh shrimp, and cooked them, not my bag either, but there were some mighty happy ladies.  Tracy had us making pies in the coals left from the grilled shrimp and steaks her and Dee had.

The only guy with us was a very adorable red head all of 4 years old...I LOVE younger men.

Hey all!

We took the camper to Florida from June 29th and came home July 15th.  Worked a few days, then took a spur-of-the-moment trip to a small local SP with only 50 sites last weekend for one night.  This week I'm off Fri, Sat, Sun, AND Mon for my birthday on Mon (getting old - this'll be the big three-five!).  Going away this weekend, but not with the camper.  So all total in July I burned a lot of vacation time and only worked 10 days this month. lol

SO that's where I've been...

Miss you all!

Howdy Howdy.

We did a couple trips recently to Hickory Run.  Next month we are going to Fort Whaley ( for tyler since he got honor roll all four marking periods last year ).  Sure do miss seeing everyone.

Rick, Happy Birthday.  It is nice to know that I was wrong and you are actually older then me ( by about 7 months ).  You will have to let me know how that big 35 is.  How was your long trip?

I am home now.  Not sure for how long, but for now.  I will be camping again for a week in August on a trip to NH.  I will also have a weekend or two camping elsewhere.  Dee is still camping in NJ and is going home tomorrow (I think).:)

Welcome back.  Scott I was thinking OC area also next month, as that is easier to get Sara (Raymond's teeneage grand-daughter).  She has a busy schedule so I have to work around her. When are you going??Ft. Whaley was what I was considering since it is easier for Raymond to get her and take her home...her little brother and sister were rubbing it in that their dad was taking them to NC for a week at the beach there (Motel-Hotel). I cannot match that but I can give her a long weekend at a beachy area with a trip to the (yuck) beach...I hate sand and need to stay out of the sun.

Another option we were thinking about was the front section of Holly Lakes in DE, it is a few miles from Lewes and the Ferry and the Rehobeth beaches. That is a longer trip for Raymond each way.

When were you all going to Ft. Whaley?

Hi everyone. I've been in Italy for the past 2 weeks. Nice to be back where I can read/speak the language.

We saw a bunch of campers over there but no popups. Passed a few small RVs on the highway when we were traveling from Rome to Florence. In Venice, I saw a row of campers lined up to take a ferry and I saw discounts were offered to camping families on the ferry to Greece. My daughter (who was studying in Florence) actually spent a weekend at a campground in Sorrento. No tents. She stayed in a bungaloo. Think she was the only one (of 10 in her group) who had actually ever been to a campground. When they discovered the bathroom in their bungaloo didn't work, she simply went to the one in the campground. The others didn't realize the campground had one.

I don't have plans to camp until Sept. Was hoping to go sooner but timing seems to be a problem.
