Galley Sink Leaks? What to do???

I've found that every time I flip over my galley sink, the dang thing leaks water on the floor.  The tank is empty, so I'm not somehow siphoning water from in there.

The last thing I need is to rot out my new camper.  Any one have this problem?  Is there something I'm doing wrong that is causing this?  Any ideas?  For now I've wrapped the sink with plastic, but that's a pain in the neck...

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Anyone that has a flip-over galley is faced with that problem (to some extent).

We always turn off the water pressure and open both faucets for any water in the line to drain before we flip the counter. We also have a real thick bath towel that we put on the floor because we know that there will be some residual water in the faucet and in the drain hose (under the sink). No matter what we do, we still get about 1/4 cup of water. The towel absorbs the water and we remove the towel when we get home.

I'm tempted next time to wrap my mouth around the thing and blow the water back into the tank....my wife has always said I'm full of hot air, so I might as well put it to good use   :D

Nice thought but it wouldn't work anyway :p . You would have to blow it through the water pump :eyecrazy: . There's a check valve in the water pump that won't permit it.

The towel on the floor is quite effective.  :sombraro:

Do you put the sink stopper in place before you flip your galley?  I have the swing level galley so i don't know if the stopper would stop the problem or not.:)

When you say "sink stopper" are you referring to the plug that goes in the drain, or is there some other gizmo that I might be missing?  If it's the drain you're referring to, the answer is yes!

On another note - has anyone installed any type of shutoff valves or quick disconnects under the sink to stop this leaking?  (yeah, I'm anal, and I'm proud of it).    :screwy:

The three PU's I have used all have done this.  Wavery's suggestion about the towel is what I do.  Works great!
