Hi all,

At the suggestion of tlhdoc, I thought I would stop in here and introduce myself.  We have STILL not gotten out with our NTU PUP, but we are planning a trip over the Columbus day weekend with some friends out to Hickory Run S.P. in PA.  These are the friends that loaned us their PUP and got us hooked into getting one of our own. :D

Until then, it looks like we will be camping up in our pasture for a "shakedown" trip.  We have about 10 acres, about 5 of which is "campable".  We can get far enough away that we can't see our (or anyone else's) house.

If anyone is going to be out at Hickory Run Columbus Day weekend, let me know and I'll figure out which site # we will be in.

Welcome to COTOC!  I like camping at Hickory Run, but COTOC is having a trip to Codorus SP that weekend.  Any chance you and your friends could join us there?:)

Welcome.  Can't wait to meet up with you guys at some point.  Beautiful country around there.  I use to spend a lot of time growing up in weatherly and my favorite campground is still Hickory Run.  We were there twice this year.

Did you say 5 acres campable.  Do I sense rally time.  Watch it Jim K., people will start coming up with ideas.

Hi Tracy,

We already have our sites reserved and paid for.  We are really looking forward to camping at HRSP, as we have been there before on BSA outings.  In fact our Troop is camping there this coming weekend, but we won't be joining them.

I'll have to look up Codorus SP.  Sorry we can't meet up with y'all.

Thanks dademt :!   We are looking forward to meeting up with other PUP-ers.  After Hickory Run, we may try and squeeze in another trip up to Promised Land.  I do not know how they rate, but our Scout Troop has tent camped there before.

Rally?  I don't know if we are ready for that this year, but maybe next year.  I could actually mow individual sites into the hay field.  It would be cool.  We had our whole scout troop camp up in our field for three days last summer.  The boys never set foot in the house.

I can't say that I have ever been to promised land or if I had, I don't remember.

As a cubmaster and former boy scout I would enjoy doing a dry camping trip sometime.
