We have quite a bit of counter space in our PUP. Is there shelving specificaly designed for use in PUP's that we can put there to increase our storage space?

SpeakEasy

I built a foldable shelf unit that goes over the galley. I don't really know how to attach a photo here. I have four photos altogether. If you want me to e-mail them to you and describe how I built this, send me a PM with your e-mail address.

OC Campers

We bought stackable Sterilite storage drawers.   I have my dishes, cups and bbq utensils in one, lighter sticks, matches and misc stuff in another, table cloth, dish towels and pot holders in another.  It works great.  Then when we pack up they stack neatly on the floor of the camper.

I put together a set of shelves made of PVC and what was left over from my bunk end shelf.

Works great and collapses down really small.

Speakeasy and others who wonder how to insert pictures.

I use Photobucket for doing that. They have a few account [that's what I use].

In the photo below you'll see that the IMG code is highlighted. Copy the text in that square and insert it in your thread.

That's all there is to it.

I use a combination of 2 side-by-side sterlite slide out drawers
  here: http://tinyurl.com/2p4rd7

sitting underneath a camping closet shown here:

I sit the closet on the floor while traveling and sit it on top the sterlite shelves when we pop up, so it remains stocked all the time.  this uses space well, and saves time in set up and tear down.

Many people use the 3-drawer sterlite shelves like this

and some people use these after installing shelves in their under-galley storage like this

  or this

I do happen to carry 6 of these under my dinette

Oh, and I also use hanging shoe shelves I think I found at Walmart for less $$ than the one shown here

All these products are still in use in 4th year of camping
Wal-mart usually carries a large inventory.  Good luck!

Camping Coxes

We have a large open space over our fridge area, next to the sink.  We use those wire mesh put-together shelving units on top of it (they're heavily advertised during off-to-college time, but available at Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc. year round).  They come apart and store in a very small size, so they store very well. I keep mine inside a tote bag.  They're not a set dimension necessarily, so we can put together anywhere from three to nine cubes, depending on how long we're camping, i.e. how many groceries we have to store.  They're tall enough to put cereal boxes inside.  I designate one for canned/bottled goods, one for snacks, one for cereal, etc.  We also use a very small sterilite with about four drawere inside one and in those drawers we store our toothbrushes and toothpaste, meds, keys, etc.  That also stores very well when popped down.

I would like to thank all of those that replied. It gave me some good ideas. We have only camped one night in it so far but with that one night we came up with a list of things that we either need or want. I am sure that the list will continue to grow with each trip.

Welcome to the world of mods.  That list of things you want to change will never end.  I'm always finding things I want to change about my pup.  Not very many huge issues now, but I'm sure they will come.

AZsix,
One more idea. We have a low shelf over the passenger side wheel well.  I copied this idea from here about a year ago.

Install two ClosetMaid standards, add arms and 18" lengths of 16" shelving.  This makes good use of the verticle space, and eliminates some of the clutter.  The bottom is for the lap top, first shelf computer bag, 2nd and 3rd shelves toiletry bags and towels, top shelf hats.  The come apart without tools, and store flat.  The only negative, is ClosetMaid is pricey.  During our next trip I'll take photos of the installation.
