I keep a small 12 v fan in the PU for moving air around and since it's seen better days, came onto a fan sale at the local Wally-Mart. It's a 10" fan that sits on a pivoting base so that different angles can be achieved for directing the air, plus it has a handle with a hook for hanging. It operates on built-in rechargeable batteriers and comes with an AC adapter plus a car adapter (cigarette lighter).  Says it can also operate on regular D cell batteries (not included). Surprisingly not too loud and moves a fair amount of air ... certainly no whirlwind by any stretch, but would move some air inside the little PU I'm sure. The box it comes in measures 12"X 12"X 3 3/4", so it should store easily. Obviously the construction is all plastic, colored white and gray.

The name of the fan says it's an "02 Cool", regular Wally-Mart price of $38.84, on sale for $15.00 - right or wrong, good or bad, I now own one!

They are nice fans.  I have one that size that doesn't have the built in battery and a smaller one that does.  They are still $25 at my Wal-Mart.  I am waiting for the price to drop and then I will get one or two.:)

Agreed, O2Cool fans are very nice.  We bought the same version, but it's D-Cell or A/C adapter only.  We've still not run the D's down, and that's after running it hours on end during 2 seperate hot camping trips in August.

The only thing I've read (on here) about the version you just bought Fly, is that the rechargables don't run it for very long.  But still, a score at $15.  We paid $13 for the more basic model.

i have one thats only 12volt with a cigarette lighter terminal, they must make a bunch of different power supplys for these fans

I have the PU rigged with one of those cigarette lighter receptacles so for the dry camping end of it the fan would operate with that. As I read the scant instructions that came with it (decipering between other languages)  says when using AC, or the DC cigarette lighter connection, that will also recharge the re-chargeable batteriers.

As they say up yonder in the mountains ... "we shall see".

Seems like this model also has some sort of "smart energy" feature doesn't it?  Where it will choose the best powersource for itself.  Maybe that was part of the comment someone else here made....that it would select the rechargables and only run on them for a short time.  Oh, and they didn't like the LED lights on the front because they were too bright at night.

Not putting down your purchase at all though......I wanted to buy the same model. Couldn't find it locally and didn't want to pay full pop on ebay and then another $20 for shipping from the gougers flogging fans this summer.
