Bouncy ride

I just picked up my Starcraft Centennial 3612 and noticed the ride was bouncy.  My TV 2007 Toyota Tacoma V6 PreRunner.  I'm wondering if I may need a weight distribution hitch.

For us the weight distribution hitch (wdh) helped but didn't solve the problem completely.

Is you trailer bouncy, TV or both. Not sure if you have them or not but shocks on your pup help reduce the bounces. If you dont have them with your leaf springs I'm not sure there is anything you can do.

I'm not trying to dog your TV, but I think this is what happens when you tow with something this size.......again, I'm not dogging your TV.

A few things:
1) Make sure your TV's tires are aired up so they aren't soft and bouncy.
2) Make sure your TV is shod in "LT" labeled tires, and not "P" labeled tires.
3) Make sure your TV's shocks all the way around are not only good, but are a very good quality brand.  For example, a new set of "Gabrials" is not going to do you any favors.
4) Make sure the camper tires are inflated to what it says on the sidewall.  Many times this is something like 80psi.  Keep 'em there!
5) Consider adjustable air shocks in the rear so you can air up when towing.
6) A WDH may be helpful.

Are you carrying water in your tank?  That can cause slosh/bounce.  

Also check the distribution of the items you've got packed in your PUP - try to even out the weight (side to side) and in front of the axle/near the axle).

Do you have a friction sway bar?  That does help (at least in my case).  

And, double check your PUP to Tow vehicle electrical connection and if your brakes are 'catching', you might need to adjust your brake controller.  (I had a weird ride - only a mile or two before I stopped and checked....my breakaway pin was not fully engaged and it made for a very weird tow)

I added a WD hitch after our second trip, and a stop at the weigh station, the tongue weight is well over 400lbs.
We found towing to be much smoother with the WD system in place, allowing the weight to be transferred properly.

What brand/model WDH are you using? Would you recommend that, or another brand?

It is just a Husky round bar set up, nothing fancy, my trailer dealer was able to set it up after I complained about the heavy tongue weight for 300.00. You may wish to check with the dealer that you purchased your trailer from to see if they will work out a deal with you.
