2. the side gasgets are beginning to come loose. is it best to replace them, or reseal them?

Do you know what your top is made of?

If the rubber gasket is coming apart (leaving part of the gasket on the top) it's best to replace it.

If the glue is just failing, you can re-glue it with 3M 8011(black) or 8001 (yellow) Weatherstrip adhesive. The yellow actually works better but the black looks better. Follow instructions carefully.
