Quote from: austinado16Why not cut to the chase and just call StarcraftRV directly.  They've got a tech assist dept. and everybody in parts and in tech assist are fantastic to deal with.

Quote from: kampingDealer says it will be OK but i am a little suspicious as there was a recall on 70 units in the 07s http://www.allworldauto.com/recalls/NHTSA_07V337000_2007_STARCRAFT_11RT_recall_67648.html with frame problems. The 08S have beefed up frames. .

The recall was about the hitch and where it attached to the frame.  The frame was notched out on some units to make fitting the hitch easier.  The notch weaken the frame where the hitch was and it would bend.  Mine had the recall work done and all it was was reinforcing the hitch attachment to the frame and welding plates over the notches.  Some idiot at the Dexter factory decided one day to take a shortcut in mounting the hitch.  Not all '07 units were affected.  No problem with the rest of the frame.

Just wondering do you or anyone else here carry a utility quad on the deck

I have carried bikes and kid stuff on the deck but nothing that weighs anywhere close to 700 lb.  I believe that the capacity of the deck is around 450 lb.

Just as a comparison...

I have the Fleetwood E3. I think it has a larger deck and it is rated for 800 lbs. The frame is also fully boxed.

JimS's estimate of 450 lbs sounds reasonable. As Austinado said, I'm sure a quick call to the factory will settle the whole thing.

BTW...that's a Monster Quad you have :eyecrazy:

Just a normal utility quad, they are all about that weight. The sport quads are lighter, about 400 lbs. I am waiting for a call back from the manufacture.
