First trip of the new year

I am heading out this afternoon on the first trip this year. It's the second (of 4) installment of taking each of my kids camping, just the two of us. With four kids it's hard to give them all the time they need and that I want to give. These trips help with that. Staying connected with my kids is one of the big reasons that I bought the pup in the first place.

We are going to Lost Dutchman SP in Apache Junction, AZ about 1/2 hr from the house. I take each of them to the same place so no one can say they went someplace better. We had frost last night and tonight should be just about as cold so I gave my son (he's 10) a chance to back out and wait until the weather warmed but he declined. I let each kid pick the dinner and breakfast menus so tonight we are having chicken wings and tomorrow fried eggs and bacon.

I'm looking forward to getting back out there camping again. This is our first full year with the pup and I am determined to get as much use out of it as possible and to see as much of the great state of AZ as I can.

I'll post some pictures of this trip when I get a chance.
