Jason specifically asked to go back to Dogwood so we're booked into site 48.  Kristi and Melissa are camping out at a Girl Scout event in the middle of Long Beach.

Jason specifically requested Dogwood and rain.  I wouldn't mind a little drizzle Saturday.

The website says bears frequent this area...  :yikes:

We were there in late August.... spot 51.... it was an awesome spot.... the bathrooms were seriously the cleanest I've ever seen at a campground!  The staff was all really nice except for one ranger guy who gave us a hard time for having 1 to many cars parked on our site.

There was a mama bear and her cubs behind us... we never saw or heard them though.

The only downfall was the massive meat/yellowjacket bees that were everywhere!  I hope they are gone..... I'd like to know how that turned out when you get home though :)  Hope you have a blast!!!

1 of our most favorite spots, but the family has plans. Enjoy its a very clean CG and you shouldn't have any fog this time.

Jeannie and Audrey will also be at the urban wilderness this weekend with their Brownie troop!

BTW- I forgot to mention that when we were there our boys and the people who campped next to us were attacked by hornets when they were hiking around looking for wood........... be really careful if you decide to do any hiking around the grounds because those little suckers are mean!!!  Our boys got stung several times and the man next to us as well ;)

Have fun though :)

Jason got his wish.  I tried to talk him into going to Riley Farms instead but he wouldn't hear of if.  Dogwood was almost like last year- dense fog and rain.

We were warm and cozy in the Chalet, but still managed to have four campfires (morning and evening each day).  I brought along my Weber Little Joe BBQ and a box of hardwood trim bits.  We had ourcampfires in the BBQ and when the rain started to pound just put the lid on and head inside.  When the rain stopped the fire sprang back up once I pulled the BBQ lid off.

In addition to walks around the campground we drove up to Big Bear to visit family and play $10 worth of Ski Ball at the arcade.

All told a great trip.

Since it was raining most of the time they were safely down in their hidey holes.
