Coconino National Forest

Does anyone have any experience camping in any of the cg's in the Coconino NF? Some of the cg's look nice but some have very limited number of spots. On the website is does say that some of them fill up quickly and advise camping during the week and coming early. Some do take reservations. I am curious as to how early they fill up and which ones offer a better chance of getting a spot.

Hello AZsix.  We do not know much of that area. infact we are trying to head that way ourselves.  We were going to go to Deadhorse Ranch but they have been full for over a week and no reservations.  Besides it is not a lot cooler than here at 3300 ft.

We did make reservations for us and brother-in-law's family at Pineflat cg in oak creek canyon, 20 a night.  We have not received much feedback from anyone in this area but we decided to give it a try. We will be going for the weekend of April 18. Elevation 4800 ft.

We will be in spots 29 and 30 if you, and your family or any of the other readers here would like to head up. Only a few reservable spots left, and this is one of the few places that took reservations.
