Looking for any information on camping at this cg.  Does anyone know if the sites are large or small, clean or not? Looking to head North in April and any information from anyone on this cg or any other would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to plan something for mid April, depends on work vacation time, for our family, and anyone that may want to meet.  Looking for cool weather, trailer hookups, somewhat open for at least two trailers, possibly 1 tent, and anyone else who would like to meet.

We have not camped in the Cottonwood, Flagstaff, Prescott area just looking to explore new areas.

We ahve not heard any feedback, but we are going to try Pine Flat cg in Oak Creek the weekend of April 18th. If anyone may have feedback on this cg I would appreciate it. We are going up with another family, but there were a couple spots left if anyone would care to meet.

Though I don't have any information on either place you had asked about I can see that my experiences with the state parks here in AZ have been fantastic. Big spots, clean restrooms and showers and overall just a great experience.

reb918, Sound like a great outing.
I also have never camped there but it is on my to do list.
I will say that Oak Creek Canyon is beautifull, I love to take 89A North every chance I get.
Sorry about the delay in posting but I had 10 tons of landscape rock between the PUP and the street. It's taken me a couple of weeks to pull the old rock up, level the ground with 5 tons of fill dirt and replace the rock, I got about a ton left to go before I can get out of the yard.

Here's a couple of Pics.

Have a great time at Pine Flat.
Depending on how the hockey play offs go, we will be heading up to Hill Top Cg that weekend,

Looks great. After all that rock you need a break to get out. I like the size of your side yard. My home is becoming way overcrowded not only inside, but outside. Our back yard holds a 16 foot by 16foot redwood deck I built, our utility trailer for hauling the wood and rock, plus a small fishing boat on a trailer. My garage has now been taken over by our pup, and also my motorcycle. Bike is up for sale because wifes wants garage back to put her car back in. Know any one who WANTS to buy a motorcycle?

Where is Hill Top CG? If you want I will be happy to let you know how that weekend goes? Would like to meet up sometime.

AZsix if available that weekend we would like to meet you or anyone else that would like to go. At this time we are planning on taking all our kids, but we do have teenagers, so you know how that goes. We will surely have our 8 month and 4 year old girl.

Oh, I hear ya on the garage, I have a 3 car garage that is so full of stuff that it only holds (barely) my DS truck and DW Xterra, thats next on my honey do list along with adding more sprinklers to the back yard lawn..

Everyone loves to check out Pics of fellow campers and the campground they stay at, myself included so please take and post picks from the Oak Creek Canyon and the campground, It may also help those campers in the Northeast make it through the last blast of winter, or drive them alittle more crazy. :D

Hill Top CG is located in the Lynx Lake Rec. Area of the Bradshaw Mountain NF.
Just after you enter Prescott on Hwy 69 its about 3.5 miles up into the forest on Walker Rd. There are 37 sites on three loops, no hookups but there is water available in each loop. Elevation is about 6,000 ft. depending on wich loop you are in the Lake is an easy 1/4 to 1/2 mile hike down the hill.

There is also Lynx Lake CG. about a mile before Hill Top with 38 sites in 8 loop. Elevation there is 5,500. Cost at both CG is $10.00 per night.
We like Hill Top because it is out of town and in the forest yet only about 8 miles from the house, also has the lake for fishing.

Here is a link to last years pics of Hill Top CG
I'm still game for a group camp, but schedualing will be hit and miss, I'm sure.
Something to remember, 115* in Phx is 95- in Prescott, gotta keep heading farther North and higher up for cool temps.. Flagstaff or Rim Country sounds good to me. ;)

See you on the Trail.

Do either of the sites take reservations? We will look into that because the higher the better, elevation that is. It is already 89 degrees here and ready to get out and go North. Can not wait until Woods Canyon lake reopens in May. It is 7700 ft. They do take reservations and the Aspen was 18 a night, Spill way i think was 21 a night, and there is a third but it was 16 a night. Hookups? Don't really know we were tent campers till a couple months ago. There were tent trailers and larger RV's in the spaces.

I'll locate some pics and post if you have never  been there. It is nice. There is a small lake and fishing. Boats are allowed with electric motors and they do rent boats, Price? 40 a day or few hours don't know. We used to pull our little boat and pack it full of camping gear, now with the pup don't know what to do with the little boat. Need 2 tv.

Yhanks for the information

No reservations at most of the N.F. campgrounds in the Prescott area, first come first camp..We did most of our camping last year mid week as I only get one weekend off per month. :D  I'd get off work about 5, drive up to the camp ground pay for two nights leave an old camp chair and cooler at the site drive home hitch up and be back in 11/2 hours pop'in up. mid week was never that populated, the weekends were a litttle more crazy.

Today I cleaned and regreased the Wifle Tree, lubed all the pullies and lift arms and slides. If its a movable part its been lubed. Flushed out the water system and sanitized it and filled the HW tank. (drained and flushed it before winter) While I was under the pup I tightened every nut and screw I could find. Tomorrow I will hook up the gas and get that flowing through the lines, make sure every thing is up to par. Need to air up tires.
Thinking about taking DD (9) and going out Friday and Saturday night, (Lynx Lake area) DW is staying home as it is Prom Night and she wants to be in town just in case..
She says she does not mind but I would feel alittle guilty if I camp with out her, and have never done it before..DD is all for it..
(note to self..need new fishing license) ;)
All are welcome to join us, it's still alittle chilly here at night and day temps are in the mid 60s, just right camping weather.
Will stay in touch.

That is what I was going to ask. What would you suggest lubing the uprights to the trailer or do you? What about the chain to lift the stove? I was thinking about white lithium, but I do not know.

We would love to get away, but my wife and I work opposite 24 hour days. We are in the emergency medical field (EMS) and see each other 10 days a month. we go to bed together occassional, but never wake up together one or the other is off to work before 5 am. That is why we need a little time to find a trade or paid time off.  Someone is home all the time; good for the kids, but wears on the relationship. We want adult time now and again. Our kids range from 15 yrs.- 8 months.

Lynx lake sounds great to us and would like to make it up there one day. We hope to run into you sometime. We are off to oak creek April 18 then shooting for possibly Woods canyon lake in June, Aspen area if your interested we will keep you updated.
