I took off my swing jack and there is a spoked looking nut inside.  Do I need to take that off?  If so, how do I get it off?

Oh no, you didn't take off your swing jack. Anytime you start messing with your swing jack and your spoked nuts, you should first consult your doctor. Plus I think you can grease that thing right where it is without taking it off.

Nancy you need to prop the tongue of the trailer.  Then take the nut and bolt off of the handle of the jack.  Remove the handle, tilt the jack and pull the shaft out of the outer tube.  Lube it with some heavy grease and then put it back together.:)

So, all I have to grease is the tube that you actually see raising and lowering when you crank it?  That's easy enough.  I thought I had to put grease down the threaded parts inside.

Yes, the threaded parts.  Once you get it apart.

You could also grease the tube you see raising and lowering when you crank it, but all you will have is a greasy tube!:p

Okay, finally got it.  I didn't have it extended all the way so I thought the threaded rod was locked in there somehow.  Duh!

It is easier to do that to tell someone what to do.  Glad you got the job done.:)
