Another question about the 7 way plug

While getting the PU ready for our first trip.  I tested all the lights, signels, brake lights.  
Basically all the lights work.  But lots of times when i would plug in the 7 plug cable to the TV only some of the back lights would work.  The right side would work, then it wouldn't, then the left side would work and the right wouldn't.  I called the RV shop and they said its a common problem and to spray wd40 in the plug and the  TV end.  That seemed to help  But its a 50/50 chance that all the lights will be a 100%.  And also if i wiggle the cable i can get them to all come on.   I just worried while driving that they will not always work and i will not be able to tell.  Has anybody had a problem like this?

I would take the plug apart and spray the inside connections with WD40 and tighten all the screws.

On some of them there is a little tiny screw that you unscrew (don't lose it) then the inner part will push out through the front end of the plug housing and expose all of the connections. When putting it back together, you just have to line up the raised part on the plug with the notch in the housing.

I found putting a bit of di-electric grease in the plug to help alot.  I also now put a baggie around the pigtail when the camper is disconnected.

Can you get replacement "blades" for the socket?  One of mine pulled out when I unhooked this weekend.  I could probably put it back in, but if I could get new blades, I'd replace them all while I have it apart.
