:( Just found out I need surgery on my back this Friday. Kinda puts a damper on my camping for most of the summer :swear: , so I'll be living vicariously thru you guys and gals so camp alot, talk alot, and post alot of pics. I'll be here but I can't be there.

Talk at ya later.

MotherNature

Sorry to hear about your surgery.  Good luck and keep us posted - we'll be thinking of you & hope you get out camping again soon!

Good luck with the surgery. We'll be thinking about you.

Yeah......good luck with the surgery.  I hope it goes smoothly and that your recovery time is quick.

I know how you feel. After 1 time out in my Rockwood I had my hip replaced on the 16th. It will be at least 3 weeks and maybe longer before I can even think about camping again. Surgery sucks, but think how nice it will be to be pain free.

Thanx all, you make me feel good knowin theres people like you out there in the world.

The surgery has be postponed until July 2nd. The doc saw something else he needs to fix and he had to reschedule for more op room time.

Will keep you informed.

He's just trying to keep me out of the woods til it snows, which could be any day in old Mich.

Had the surgery Wednesday afternoon. Doc says he removed 1 disk and pieces of another that were aggrevating the nerve then he had to grab the nerve and tug it out of where it was pinched. Got me up yesterday afternoon which was fun, and had me walking around the hosp.. They let me come home today only if I promised not to go camping tonight, so I told him ok I can wait til tomorrow. :D  Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes, it's nice to know people like you all exsist it this screwed up world of ours.

Happy camping!

Welcome home. Glad to hear that surgery went well. When did the Dr say you could start camping again?

I can't drive for 2-3 weeks and then he said I could camp with help the end of July. :-()

That's really good news......Gotta tell ya that "grabbing the nerve and tugging it" part of your story made my toes curl up.

I hope you're "BACK" to camping in no time.

Glad that you are home from the hospital and that all went well with your surgery.  Hope that you get back (ha ha) to camping soon!

When I can't go camping and really miss it, I always try to remind myself of those "no place like home" things like my own bathroom & tub & toilet & sink, veggie garden (extended family comes & harvests/eats tomatoes, peps, raspberries while we're away), stove with oven, fridge that doesn't have to be checked on every 8 hours, tv for baseball games & weather forecasts (would have liked the visual doppler this weekend!), turning on the lights without having to worry about battery capacity, and the computer that lets me keep in touch with everyone on the message boards!

Hope you have a speedy recovery and that you are back (seriously no pun intended) to camping soon!

Glad it went well and I hope the recovery goes fast and smooth!
