I haven't always been a desert rat, used to be a Virginian, but I was always taught there were two Carolinas:  South Carolina and Deep South Carolina.  They tend not to mention "North" unless they were cussing.

Ah, some of you young'uns have missed some of the deep old south ...

First off, "coke" was something that was burned in a steel mill operation. Not ever something we drank ... that was a yankee expression! What we drank was "Coca-Cola" or "Pepsi-Cola"; and the only allowed short term would have been for Royal-Crown Cola ... and that would have been "git us a Crown an a Moon" - translated = get us a Royal Crown Cola and a Moon Pie!

Then, we have the top of the house. It's called the roof. Kind of sung out ..."rooooof" ... not "ruff" .... that's something a dog does!

And, that small stream of water flowing over yonder, it's called a "creek", pronounced "creak". Not ever "crick" ... that's what you get in the back of your neck!

Well I'm from TX and i  like your post!
Here everything is a "coke" you just have to specify which "flavor" like DP. 7UP,
Pepsi, etc.
And if people not from the south think these are just jokes think again!
Funny they may be but they are a way of life round here.
YaOnto- Do you want to?
Jeryet- Are you there yet?
Jeetyet- Did you eat yet?
IIIeet- Alright (in other words I understand what you said or meant)
All are said in one breath as one syllible.
I could list more but don't wanna to bore you.
Hoping ya' all have a great summer!
