90 PSI for 5.30 X 12 tires on a 94 Dutchman?  Is this for real?  Thanks

I thought that it was 80 PSI but if your tires say 90, that's what they are. It has the PSI molded into the side of the tire. That is the "Cold" PSI rating and it's important to run at that for the tire to perform properly. :sombraro:

I definitely agree. Go with the pressure listed on the sidewall. As little as 5 PSI low can drop the tire's rating enough to overload the tires if you are anywhere near the rated loading. Not to mention any reduction in pressure also reduces the stiffness in the tire sidewalls and tread and generates a lot of heat.

And no you don't need to leave it a little bit low to make up for the increase in pressure as the tire is run and warms up. The tire companies have been doing this for over 100 years and realize the pressure goes up when the temperature of the tire increases and have allowed for it.

I would like at the tire again because i have a camper i am working on it has the same size tire you have and it call for 80 psi cold not 90.

Every 5.30 - 12" (load range "C") tire I've ever heard about all require 80 psi as the standard ... of course ... what do I know? Maybe brand "XYZ" has arrived!

However, the 4.80 - 12" (load range "C") tires do require 90 psi.

I'd do a double check on the size and required psi on the sidewall ... and get back to us as to what you find out!

guess I had better double check mine as well.  I think my tires are only call for about 60psi.

Many thanks for your replies---I will double check tonight after work to see if it says 80 instead of 90, with my glasses on this time!  I would probably have still questioned 80 as I just didn't recall on previous popups that they were anywhere near that much pressure---then again all were larger tires.

On the double check, it does state 80 PSI rather than 90.  So thats what it shall be!  Many thanks.

Kinda figured it was 80 psi,  as the 5.30 - 12" tires are what's on my PU, too. Sometimes being able to read the "fine print" on the tire sidewall gets to be tricky as one advances in age and the eyesight ain't what it use to be!

Down the same line, watch when you go to replace the present tires that the tire shop does not substitute load range "B" tires for the correct load range "C" tires (which you presently have). The B's do not have the load carrying capacity that the C's have. There have been reports here on this board in the past of that happening and , of course, the lesser tires blew out shortly after.
