Help, I have a 2000 Dutchmen Classic 1204 w/ a Coleman Mach 13,500 AC....any experts out there that can tell me if the Yamaha EF2400IS will run the AC. Any other advice would be great. Thanks in advance

It will run it. During start up make sure not much else is running or it will blow the fuse and no other high wattage devices while it is running.

Not that you are going to necessarily need it with the Yamaha EF2400iS, but I have been reading threads this camping season about folks upgrading the starting capacitor in their A/C units.

If your A/C unit is still starting hard, or blowing fuses when it cycles on and off, a new start capacitor might be in order.

Beacher..I'm right there with you....been reading up on that also...sounds like and easy $15 to $20 fix if I have problems....right now I'm torn between the Yamaha EF2400IS or throwing in the towel and get'n the 3000 and being done with it....I'm still young enough(well in my mind) to lug around the 3000...but if I can get away with the 2400.

I have the Yamaha 2400i and it barly grunts running my A/C. I have a Coleman polar cub and I think is only a 9000 btu with heat strip. The sales guy at wisesales.com said it will run the newer 13500 but the soft start kit I think would be the way to go. You will be happy with the Yamaha.
