My Husband and I bought our first pop-up camper ( 86 coleman chesapeak)  this year. The camper is in good condition and we have taken it out twice this year. We Like to dry camp but can't seem to get the hand pump faucet to work. All the connetions look tight and we have replaced some old tubing. Can the faucet be broken? Any sugestions?
Thanks

Had to replace mine in the Starcraft as I had left some water in the line and the pump (did'nt blow the lines out) froze and split the base one extra cold winter. They were pretty much standard fare for the 80's and 90's:

Notice you can also buy just the repair kit, which may or may not help your situation.

Those are great faucets (in my opinion).  I love the way the handle pumps and they seem to move a lot of water.  If I had the wider counter top behind my sink, I'd have one for sure.  Instead, I've got one of the plastic chrome Attwoods where the handle has to be unscrewed and then moves vertically up and down to pump.  I think I'm on my 4th used one, and they all leak when pumping....and there are no rebuild kits available, just $60 new ones.

But enough about me :D

You can prime your faucet by placing your finger tip over the opening when you're in the suction stroke, and then releasing your finger when you're in the pump stroke.  Doing this maybe 5 times should get the water moving.  If not, you probably have worn out rubber cups inside the faucet.  A kit may be available depending on the make/model of faucet, otherwise, you'll need to buy a new one.

And remember that if there's an air leak into the water line somewhere, from a crack or loose fitting, etc. you won't get good (if any) water pumping action.
