Does anyone have a ballpark figure of what it would cost to have a new toilet installed? We have a Thetford now with electric flush but we have had some problems with it. I wouldn't mind getting one with a manual foot flush.

A replacement C2 cassette will run apx $700 as of two years ago. With the Dollar Euro crash and they being made in Europe I'm sure the price has risen.
As for replacing a cassette with a "standard" RV toilet. You'd need under carriage space for the black tank directly under the RV toilet mounting area. The parts for this run apx $200. A good reason why Fleetwood started installing RV toilets versus cassette's in a lot of models.

This is another reason we got rid of our RV and went to a PUP. ( just cost too much to repair)..........  WE set up a shower/potty tent behind the camper.  Works as well as having all the stuff we had in the RV before.  Potty was $70 and I think the tent was $35.  Works good for us !!  The Coleman hot water on demand is awesome for taking a shower or doing dishes.............

We are learning the PUP way and loving it !!

If I had to replace mine, it would be with the best Thetford porta potty I could find. A new cassette is way to much $$
I'd remodel the bathroom after ripping out the old pot. A side note, the Sears pottys are made by thetford too.

I had no idea they would be that expensive. I like the idea that ForestCreature had for replacing with a porta potty. We only use it for middle of the night emergencies. I am sure I can get mine working properly so hopefully it won't come to that. I was even thinking of rigging up my own little tank for the chemical and water and putting a manual pump of some sort on it and use that to flush. It would have the same result.

Thanks for the replies.

Here is a list of rv salvaged parts you may want to call and check out. There are a few right in the Phoenix area. Hope this helps.

If you think the $700+ is expensive for the C2 unit, then sit down for the price of the C2 with shower enclosure at $1100+. Again 2 year old pricing before the Dollar took a dump against the Euro.
