Welcome Gracy and family,

Like it was mentioned, it is a bunch of great people that love to camp, hang out, socilaize and meet new people. You can join in anytime, go site seeing, or stay in your trailer all day, whatever you fel like doing. No requirements, no dues, no interviews...Wayne and Bob, be nice..:). just bring whatever you like to bring and have fun. We have a potluck usually every campout where everyone contributes something, we sit by the camp fire at night. We try and have a big poker game every trip, anyone who wants to join is welcome..its high stakes so be sure to bring money...($5 is all you need) :) :)
We have retirees, teachers, attornies, a police officer, insurance claims people, stay at home mom's and about everything in between and even a judge pro tem...(it was great listening to your stories at Pt Magu Lori..:)) It's a fun group. We have kids from infant to adults, my son is 9.
We were also hestiant at first, meeting people from the internet, but as I have said before you couldn't meet a nicer group. We stretch from San Diego to Sacramanto and San Jose area's. Palmdale to Hemet, Orange Conty, LA, Oxnard areas. I live in Balersfield as well as "Freedom-5". You will soon know the sign-on names and put a face to everyone. It makes it alot more fun to read these posts and follow when you know who is who and the different personalities. Hope to see you and family soon. Sorry for rambling, but i'm just trying to give you a full picture of the group and what its all about.  Not everyoner makes every rally. As for us in Bakersfiled, it is difficult to drive 4+ hours for a weekend trip and deal with the grapevine, so we pick and choose which trips we want to go on. As mentioned, watch this site often, usually when a rally pops up, it will fill up within 24 hours if not less sometimes. I hope this helps, see you soon.

Thanks for all that info!  Everyone has been really welcoming and nice!!!  I didn't think to do more of an intro............ I'm a fulltime working mom in the aquatics industry and Shayne is a metal spinner in the aerospace industry.  Oldest son is a lifeguard/swim instructor... daughter is a 3rd grader and youngest son is 18 months going on 18 years! hahah!

Shayne loves to fish.... and also hunts during quail season.  Oldest son also fishes and hunts.  I love camping, so I'm the pusher for all any of the trips we manage to go on.  I also love taking a million pictures and I use to scrapbook when I had more free time.

Anyway thats pretty much the jist of our family.... we have really great sence of humors and love to hang out with people that have them too!  Really nice getting to know everyone here... we look forward to meeting everyone soon!!!

Hi Gracy,

Nice talking (typing) to you..:). looking forward to meeting everyone. Keep looking at the posting for the Halloween trip, there maybe a cancellation just prior. Put your name on the waiting list. "Freedom-5" is the "wagonmaster" on this trip, let him know. He and I both live in Bakersfield.
My wife also scrapbooks when time allows. Lots in common with everyone. Have fun on the board here and see you soon.

What? A family in Pasadena that camps?  Welcome!
I've been doing a fair number of trips in the direction of Ventura, and the OC. I've done Big Bear a few times but not Arrowhead. Am I missing something there?

I've got 2 boys; Kindergarten and 2nd grade who love to camp. I have a wife who not keen on all the dirt associated with camping and is too shy to have a good time with these fun folks. Everyone I've met on the rallies is fun and helpful, and I've needed lots of help going solo with 2 kids. Cook something good for the potluck and everybody is your friend!

My primary problem is being able to plan ahead enough to get into a rally. I'm more of a hey- this weekend just became free, let's go, type.
Look forward to meeting you at a rally soon, if not sooner.

Hmmm... I use to know a guy in Pasadena named Carl.... did you ever live on Los Robles? :D haha!

Too bad your wife doesn't enjoy camping.... even in a trailer she doesn't dig it?I'm not keen on tent camping or any backpacking sorta deal.....been there done that and didn't enjoy it!  But the one time I experienced a campgound resport......... I was hooked ;)

I totally understand the having a hard time planning ahead of time... we are the same way.... really try to plan... but most stuff is last minute.

wavery

Did you ever stop & think that .....just maybe....the reason that most things are last minute, might be because you failed to have anything planned... :p
