storage tubes

hey everyone,

im looking into doing my first mod on my pu. i want to put a 6'' pvc tube on the rear bumper to store my under awening carpet. what has this mod cost you guys. i went to a local plumbing distributer and the mod is gonna cost about 100$. my local home depot only has 4'' pvc tubes.

Check out Lowes.  My Home Depot did not have the larger PVC as well.  I don't remember how much I paid for them at Lowes but if it had been $100 I would not have done the mod.

I have never seen the 6" at HD. Always seen/purchased at Lowe's.

$100 sounds high to me. I don't think I paid anywhere near that. You sure you weren't looking at the vinyl fence posts (square) that some people use? I looked at that stuff, and it IS expensive.

found mine at Menards.  The 6" tube was not that bad a price, but the end caps were more.  besides that, I had 2 SS stove bolts and nuts.  that was it - around $35 total, IIRC.  that was 4 years ago, though, and PVC probably is up since then.
