My wife and I take delivery on a Flagstaff BR23SC on Saturday. The rig has a deck on the front which can be used, among other things, to carry an ATV or in my case, a motorcycle. Do any of you have a rig like this? Even if its not the Flagstaff variety, I'd like to know what your impressions are and what potential problems should I be ready for?

We are trading in our '98 Rockwood we bought last year as our get our feet wet camper. Be got bit hard by the pop up bug and have had had a great time. But I missed not being able to bring my motorcycle with me. I also am looking forward to having the cassette toilet option. In fact any wisom about that particular option would be welcome as well.

I joined nearly a year ago and this represents my delurk.  :)

Congratulations on your new pup. I don't have one or have any experience with them but they do look nice if you need to take an ATV or motorcycle in your case. You get the best of both worlds.

I have a cassette toilet in mine and we love it. I have learned that you don't put chemicals in the flush water.   Mine has stopped flushing so until we can get that fixed we will manually flush it which is not a big deal especially considering we only use it for middle of the night emergencies.

Looking forward to hearing about your maiden voyage with it.

Congrats on the new rig, I know you'll love it. I have a Jayco Baja 10C with the front deck and just love it. The only real advice I can give you is to not to overload it and make sure you have the TV that can handle the load. Once you add cargo to the front carrier, the tongue weight goes up quickly. I passed on the inside shower/toilet combo because it took up so much space inside. I have a porti shower tent I set up and put the porti poddy in it during the day and at night bring it inside. Has worked well for us. Good luck with your new rig.

Congratulations on your new purchase!  We have a Fleetwood Evolution E-3 and we absolultely love it!  The deck comes in handy for all sorts of things, like bicycles, dive gear, outboard motors, etc.

KJR Jr, Congratulations on your new PUP.  As AZsix said don't put chemicals in the flush water and read the label and make sure the concentration that you put in the cassette black water tank is correct - sometimes the dosage is written for the larger black water tanks.

Be careful how much stuff you load on the deck and I would encourage you to get the PUP with your stuff weighed so you know what you are hauling and you don't go over your limits.  Make sure the tires are correctly inflated to the side wall requirements.  Finally, more than likely you will have to invest in a weight distribution hitch.

Take care.
