This is the last part, I promise ...

You've all heard about the dam break & flooding that occurred over the weekend.  Fortunately for us we were already out of the Canyon when it happened, but we did spend several hours in the very area that got flooded.  Havasu Creek was wonderful!  Lush & green, with great little pools and our own natural jacuzzi!

Getting out of the raft at Havasu Creek was very precarious.  No sandy beaches here -- only rock and a steep climb up & around the corner to get to the good stuff.

Havasu Creek:

Getting cooled off:

The water was never very deep and always refreshing.

Erik, enjoying the "jacuzzi":

The hike out of Havasu Canyon:

Before we left the Canyon we were given large plastic bags to "pack" in.  Here we are back home in my garage with our "luggage".  It took 2 pre-washes to even get the water looking normal!

We got lots of sun, and my feet are testimony to that.  No, it's not dirt!

I could go on forever, but I think this gives you a small idea of what it was like.  Every aspect of the trip was carefully planned and we were treated with graciousness by the boatmen.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for indulging me!

Those were great. As much as I enjoyed it when I was younger, I couldn't do it now. Thanks for letting me re-live it through you....great trip.
