I just recently got a pup and its my first one.  I do not know alot about them.  On our camping trip this last weekend I had a problem with my door.  When I went to raise the roof I noticed that the door was not up in the roof where it stores for transport.  The previous owners told us that they put a bungee cord around the bottom of the door to hook it on the two white turn clips that are suspose to hold the door up during transport. (where do this clips go on the dooe any way) Well as I can see this does not work all that great.  So, I was wondering what other models of pup's use to hold the doors to the roof while transport so I might be able to change what I have or see if  my pup is even missing something.  Pictures would be great of this if any one can help me please.  My pup is a 1985 palomino pony with a manual raise roof.   thanks

Probably the bottom of the door has little hole that go over turn clips on the wall when the Pup is open, the turn clips on the roof also go in these holes.

Both older PUP's I've had store this way, and they are not the greatest at holding, because the door shifts and moves as the trailer is being transported, the door comes out of the frame, and then the frame get pulled off the clips.

On both of mine, there is also ONE wing nut that turns and holds the door in the frame when it is up that way - mostly, this doesn't work, either.  So I use a bungee cord to hold the frame tight against the door while it is up, and that makes the whole thing just a bit more rigid, which in turn, helps those little turn latches to hold.

Perhaps that is what the previous owners of your PUP were trying to do?  there isn't really any way a bungee cord can be hooked on to the turn latches, anyway.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest either mounting some small eyelets to the ceiling (don't go thru the roof!) and running a bungee cord from hook to hook across the door and frame, or perhaps some kind of velcro strap to hold it up?

While your post indicates you question the transport storage of the door, if you are having set up problems with your door - it might be that your PUP is not leveled side to side/front to rear as well as it should be.

Not knowing the make/model PUP you have I can only tell you that Fleetwood says to raise the roof before lowering the stabilizers - and I install my door then and it works better than when installed later.

My PUP (new) came with two 4x4 sponges (mattress foam) that fit between the door in transit and ceiling.  They seem to stabilize the door against the road vibration and the door stays put on it's clip and two posts/holes better than when not used (the door vibrates out of the clip and sleeps on the bunk).
