I have seen lots of pup's lately with a piece of 6 inch plastic pipe with caps on the ends mounted on the bumper of pups for storage.  I was wondering how some of you mounted this pipe to your bumpers.  I am thinking of mounting a pipe to my pup and wanted to see the many ways others used to mount these pipes to their pups before I got mine.  I was thinking of some kind of strap over the pipe with a bolt, but was concearned with the pipe moving side to side during travel.

I put ours on the tongue between the camper body and the propane tank.  Put a couple of pipe straps around it, it never moved.

Most pop ups with the pipe added are strapped down with plumbers tape. That is a very flexible but strong metal strip with holes drilled all along the length about one inch apart. I have also seen some held in place with just bungee cords. I have also seen hose clamps used, but a clamp that big might be kinda pricey, plus exposed to the elements would rust quickly. I guess unless you're driving on a very curvy road at high speeds that it would stay in place with even duct tape.

I used  carriage bolts with large fender washers and bolted through the pipe.
The washers bent to take on the inside radius of the pipe.
I have not had any problems in over a year.

like above, i used carriage bolts on the inside of the pvc pipe thru the bumper.  very clean installation on the back bumper.
