We are staying in Carpinteria State Park Santa Rosa CG with full hookups in a few weeks. We had a difficult time with the sewer hookup the last time we were there. It appears it sits at a 90 degree angle and has a threaded connection. What kind of adapter can we use? We have the standard garden hose drain for the shower and sink. We currently use the rubber doughnut with the garden hose adapter but it is too small to use with the CG sewer hookup. What else can we use?

What do you all use or do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

I am sure there is some type of connector for this, but I was thinking. Can't you just push the garden hose down past the 90 degree bend and then just stuff a rag around the opening to keep the smell from coming out :yikes:
you guys will be just a hop & sip away from us.  ;)
One word of caution for you. Bring your valuables into your PU at night. there is a train track right next to the CG and homeless people will come out at night looking for things that they can use and walk away with.
hope you have a great trip  :D :

Thanks for the reply.  We did push the drain hose past the 90 degree angle but I was hoping there was something a little more hygenic (holding back gagging reflexes). The sewer drain sticks up out of the pavement about 8 inches before the 90 degree bend.

We did learn the hard way not to leave things out. I put a cooler outside to dry for less than an hour and it was gone. But the idiot left us 2 beach towels and flip flops. Otherwise we have never left things out. We have been careful about that.

We will be there for our fall break Oct 5-10. We will be camping mid week. We were able to get beach row for 4 nights. You should stop by and see us.

We bought a cap that fits in the large sewer opening and has a garden hose connector on top.( used it when we had our pup).......Do not know what it's called but I'm sure any RV supply store will know what it is.....Plus it didn't cost very much only around $3-4 dollars....Hope this helps you out......
