Hopefully someone can help me.  I have a fuse box in my popup with 4 "15amp" fuses.  I noticed that I intermittently lost power for a few seconds, then would come back on.  I checked the fuses and 1 of the 4 was a little wonky, that is, there was an occassional spark coming from the fuse.  I pulled and reseated, and no power.  I could not get the power on.  I pulled the fuse and turned on the circuit breaker and wouldn't you know, power retored.  I put an new fuse, and lost power again.  I pulled the fuse out, and once again, power restored.  I never messed with the fuses before, always worked, not sure why this is happening and why I have power with 3 fuses instead of 4.  In a possible related incident, my battery keeps dying, never seems to charge.  And when I looked at the circuit box, the 4th fuse with the problem has a label stating (#4 Battery Protector).  I get the feeling this is related to the battery dying.  Also, all these fuses are 15 amp, but the box seems to say that they should be all 12amp fuses.  I never (as I stated earlier) messed with the box, never replaced fuses, and questions are 1). Could the battery defect (this is a brand new battery) have something do with this electrical issue.  2). Should I put all 12 amp fuses and remove the 15amp?  And if the answer is yes, why didn't this issue come up before?  I had this camper for 3 years with no electrical issues.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.  (I am concerned with safety now, it's worrying me as we camp with the kids often).

Ray and Kathy,

I suggest that you confirm that the battery wires are secure and most important that they are connected correctly - Black to Positive and White to Negative.

Hope this helps.

Your camper has two electrical systems.  A 12 volt DC system (lights, furnace, water pump, etc) and a 110 AC system (the standard home style electrical outlets)  The DC system draws power from the battery or when you have the camper plugged into "shore power".  The AC system only works when the camper is plugged into "shore power".  The 15 amp fuses are for your AC powered outlets.  15 amps are normal/standard.  Where are you seeing that they should be 12 amp?  The power converter will turn 110 AC current into 12 volt DC current.  You should have fuses for the 12 volt DC current system too.  I hope this helps.:)
