Maybe they left it sitting on concrete too long.  :Z :banghead:  :screwy:

I have been impressed with Interstate brand Batteries.  The one on my popup that was original equipment is still in service (I check the water and keep charged), and I have got Interstate Deep Cycle battery for the trolling motor/lights/bilge pump/livewell aerator on my boat.  I got the battery at Gander Mountain, selecting the best they had for longer fishing time.

lol......concrete doesn't damage batteries.

When you guys buy that new battery, and turn in the old one (leaking, broken or not....it's the lead that's valuable not the plastic case) be sure to invest in a nice trickle charger that you leave hooked up to the battery year round when not in use.  That will automatically maintain the battery.  Otherwise, it'll be dead and/or ruined by being left deeply discharge, from sitting all winter.

You might also consider a nice 10am automatic charger for doing actual battery charging with.  Handy tool to have in the garage, whether it's for our automotive batteries, your camper's battery, or what ever.

That hasn't been true since the 1950's. After about 1953 the plastic used to make the cases was changed.
