How often do you fully detail your tow vehicle?

Do you you do it yourself or hire a detailing shop?  What do you do as a part of your detailing and deep cleaning of your vehicle and camper?  Wax?  Clay Bar? Polish the wheels?  Clean the inner fenders?  Detail the engine compartment? It might also be interesting to share how often you detail or deep clean your camper.

I try to do a monthly clean out of the tow vehicle, and generally re-organize before any trip, but the real deal gets done 3-4 times a year.  As to washing the outside of the vehicle, I do that on an as-needed basis - a good rinse if I've been in salt air, a good hosing of the inside of the side panels of the truck and bumper if I've been through mud - my truck is 11 years old, and body wise - still going strong.  Headliner is separating now, and there's a tear in the driver seat and just had the cruise control drop dead - but hope to keep her for a few more years.

My grandmother stressed years back - never pay for what you are physically capable of doing.....so I do it myself!

Detail about once year. I do it myself.  Have a buffer. Find it relaxing believe it or not...

Most of the time I just run it through the car wash.  I'll vacuum out the interior and do the inside of the windows more often though.  Especially after a camping trip.

I give it a full clean / polish / wax treatment twice a year.  In the fall to get ready for winter, and then again in the spring to remove the ravages of winter.

It's not worth spending much time on it in the summer since it lives outside.  We keep our popup in the garage in the summer when we're not camping.  The truck gets the garage back for winter when we take the camper up to the barn for it's seven month hibernation.  Wow........We really need to move to a warmer state!

Even though it's black, my truck looks pretty good most of the time, and the paint holds up well.  The chrome wheels and side steps are a pain to keep clean, though.  They rust FAST with all the road salt used up here in Michigan.

I do it all myself and both get a good detailing and vacuuming before they leave the driveway for any event/adventure.  You can't run around in "old school" stuff and have it look shabby.  Otherwise, it just looks like you're driving around in old junk IMO.

All our daily drivers get detailed regularly which includes our TV. In fact I just had the TV detailed today in and out. I either pay a shop to do it or, when I have time, I prefer to do it myself. I always handle the tri-annual buffing/waxing, engine compartmet etc. and anything needed in between. Outside of weekly maintenance, my vehicles get a bath anytime they leave town for a trip. In fact my obsession for clean vehicles bugs the hell out of my DW. But she never complains her Jeep is too clean!

We clean our Pup after every trip. I wash the canvas with Woolite every few camp outs. In between I wash it with clear water. The rest of the trailer gets washed before every campout. Before we store it for the season we deep clean it.
